Our Branch Wilhelmshaven

We in Wilhelmshaven

Our office building in Wilhelmshaven is called "Pacific One". That sounds like sea, ocean, the great wide world. And that's exactly what we see when we look out of the office window. From here, massive coal freighters can be watched at the Niedersachsenbrücke jetty, and even the world's largest container ships. We can always be found smack-dab in the hustle and bustle of the port. Since the end of 2019, we have been in this building, together with colleagues from the port company JadeWeserPort.

Our Wilhelmshaven crew consists of around 60 employees in the areas of Engineering and Technical, Technical Service, Port Office, Real Estate, Commercial Affairs, as well as HR and Administration. In this relatively small team, you can almost find some kind of family atmosphere: Old and young understand each other perfectly and there is always something to laugh about. Even after work. For example, at our annual Christmas party.

Our Wilhelmshaven

From Hooksiel to the Südstrand (South Beach), there is something to discover everywhere. Whether you want to watch ships or explore beautiful leisure areas. Wilhelmshaven and its surroundings are very versatile, which port, for instance, can boast a horse racing track in immediate vicinity to a water ski lift?

Sailing or canoeing. Diving or surfing. Wilhelmshaven has a lot of sporting activities to offer for water lovers. But even on land you can be active, above all by bike. On the dike, you often encounter a little headwind, but the effort is always rewarded with a great view. You can take a dip in the outdoor public pool "Klein Wangerooge" at Lake Bantersee or in the Nautimo water park.

Wilhelmshaven is called the "Green City by the Sea". Relaxing walks can be enjoyed in the various parks (City Park and Spa Park), as well as in the botanical garden or the rose garden. Wilhelmshaven can also compete in culinary terms, there are many restaurants and cafés, especially on the promenade on the Südstrand (South Beach).

Cultural highlights include the "Weekend on the Jade", "Wilhelmshaven Dances", the "Street Art Festival", or the "Wilhelmshaven Sailing CUP". In addition, various museums, the municipal theater or the aquarium are always worth a visit.

You can find more information on the website of the City of Wilhelmshaven.

Child Care

Together with those providers, the city of Wilhelmshaven has created a Kinderbetreuungsbörse (child care exchange) to help you find the right institution for your needs. This exchange offers comprehensive information.

Education
In addition to a large number of general education schools and school forms (elementary schools, special education centers, secondary schools, grammar schools, a comprehensive school, an adult education center, and a music school), Wilhelmshaven also has a vocational school and a university of applied sciences. You will find further information on this on the website of the City of Wilhelmshaven.

Wilhelmshaven is directly connected to the federal freeway A29 (Autobahn), which continues south to Oldenburg.

Wilhelmshaven can also be easily reached by train. The terminal train station is the place, where the NordWestbahn, coming from Oldenburg, and the Ostfriesische Küstenbahn (Jever, Wittmund, Esens) terminate. The central bus station and Wilhelmshaven's great shopping mile, the Nordseepassage, are located near the train station building.

The closest international airports are in Bremen (about 100 km) and Hannover (about 200 km).
